Day 58: Two Tribes

While many fans of Big Brother were no doubt left scratching their heads after last night’s double eviction, it did help bring this seasons game into total clarity.

By now you know Shelli and Jackie were voted out last night, and respective order. What many can’t figure out is why Steve as Head of Household did not go for a harder target. I think that Becky was his plan as a backdoor nomination, but when John one Power of Veto, Steve had to abort the mission. He put up Jackie and Meg to assure that one person from that alliance went home in the double eviction. As far as the overall scheme of things went, it was mission accomplished: their side lost a number.

The last two weeks has seen a series of misfires in the house, deliberately or otherwise. First the house wanted Shelli gone, instead they got rid of Clay. Then they wanted Vanessa gone, instead they got rid of Shelli. Last night, Becky was the target, but yet again the target didn’t go home. Instead, Jackie went home. Season 17 has wound up becoming the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

Now we have two clear-cut alliances. John, Becky, Meg, and James on one side, Austin, the twins, and Vanessa on the other. This makes Steve a free agent, and he probably won’t get picked off for a few more weeks unless he does something stupid. With Liz the new HOH, she will no doubt attack Becky, with John and James as alternate plans.

It’s going to be a very interesting series of weeks as long as the house is somewhat equally divided. With Liz HOH, this week in particular should be very straightforward in its execution, bringing no surprises.

    1. I would LOVE to see them do a double eviction sometime in July, and get rid of the one at the end that they usually do in early September.
